At The Beauty Therapy Centre, we treat these skin conditions using electrolysis

Electrolysis is a method of hair removal that is also effective for treating thread veins (telangiectasia). It involves the use of a fine needle and diathermy current to cauterise the tiny blood vessels. This treatment is also known as thermolysis.

During the procedure, the skin is first sterilised, the heat generated by the current reduces the visibility of the capillary, which eventually leads to its disappearance.

Treating Thread veins (Telangiectasia):

Thread veins or telangiectasia are small, thin, and dilated blood vessels that appear near the surface of the skin. They are commonly found on the face. Thread veins are often caused by sun damage, genetics, hormonal changes, and certain medical conditions. Although they are not harmful, they can be unsightly.

Using Advanced Electrolysis, we can remove broken veins using diathermy techniques. A few sessions may be necessary, as we gently reduce the number of veins, allowing time for the skin’s recovery.

Please book a consultation with us to find out about how our thread vein removal service could help you.

Treating Blood spot Cherry angioma (Campbell de Morgan):

Blood spot cherry angioma, also known as Campbell de Morgan, are small, bright red, and raised bumps on the skin. They are caused by the overgrowth of blood vessels. These spots commonly occur on the face, trunk, arms, and legs. While there is no known cause for cherry angiomas, they may be genetic and can be exacerbated by age or sun exposure.

Treating Skin Tags:

Skin tags are small, benign growths that typically occur in skin folds or creases. They are flesh-coloured or darker and can vary in size from a tiny speck to the size of a grape. Skin tags are common in both men and women and are usually painless. They can be caused by friction, hormonal changes, genetics, and obesity. Diathermy current is used to remove the tag in it’s entirety.

Treating Spider Nevus:

Spider nevus is a small, red, spider-shaped lesion that appears on the skin. It is caused by the dilation of blood vessels and is most commonly found on the face, neck, and arms. Spider nevi are more common in women and may be a sign of hormonal changes or liver disease.

Treating Milia:

Milia are small, white, hard mini-cysts that typically appear on the face, particularly around the eyes. Diathermy treatment causes them to implode and reabsorb.
